eProjectWorld.com!

Welcome to my website!  It's been a couple of years since I have had any time to devote to the site.  Time off during the Holidays' seems like as good of time as any to work on the website.

Recently, the site was hacked which motivated me to secure a couple of areas.  I think this site will ultimately become a Sandbox for website development, blogs and personal marketing.  There are so many general project management websites adding another one doesn't make sense.

Cheers -

Alan

The "Zen" of Project & Program Management

(an adaptation from Microsoft)

Program managers are central to the value proposition. In early planning, we immerse ourselves in customer needs, technological trends, political landscapes, business priorities and chasing sponsorship from which we distill a clear and focused value proposition.

We articulate what the team is signing up to deliver, the estimated time and funding it will take, and the purpose it is intended to serve. This articulation of the value proposition serves as the "plan of record" from which the team forms it's decisions about features, designs, timelines, cost estimates and priorities.

As the project moves from planning into design, we "paint the detailed picture" of what the team will deliver, through various means depending upon the "methodology" selected. This vision can be realized by storyboards (Agile/Scrum), Business Requirements Specifications (Traditional) prototypes (PDIM), or adaptive models which leverage a hybrid approach to take advantage of the best practices to maximize efficiency. Your company policy, or PMO will determine which method is appropriate.

As the project moves from design into execution and on to the end state, we keep perspective to ensure that the tactical decisions fit within the framework of the value proposition.

Ultimately, we ensure that the "product" of our projects represent a strong value proposition and that the solution actually delivers the promised value.
